 On its 3rd year, the City Government of Masbate celebrates the Annual Family Day on December 20-21, 2007. The employees took on a different activity as they engaged in sports events which showed their athletic skills and apt through joining in various games like marathon, relay, soccer football, limbo rock, javelin throw, etc. |

Masbate City 7th Founding Anniversary Masbate City marks its 7th Cityhood Anniversary this September. This foundation is highlighted with significant, educational and festive activities that reflect the fondness and vibrancy of the people of Masbate City for special events and festivals. These activities were spearheaded by the local government unit through Hon. Socrates Tuason, City Mayor with unwavering support from the Government Line Agencies and private sectors as well as the church sector. Part of the lined activities was coastal clean-up which adheres to the main thrust of the city government which is the protection and conservation of environment particularly coastal environment. Another is the Pagarandahan San Boses which showcases and harness the potentials of talented children from Masbate City. . One of the most magnificent activity was the Lapay Bantigue Dance Festival last September 30. This is the first time they brought the dance festival on the streets to create a festive atmosphere and it was a competition. It was participated in by different elementary and high schools from the city; among them are the Jose Zurbito Sr. Elementary School and Amancio Aguilar Elementary School for the and Masbate National Comprehensive High School, Masbate Colleges (high school department), Osmena Colleges (high school department) and Liceo de Masbate respectively. One contingent from other municipality, Dimasalang National High School also partook in. The high-spirited schoolchildren presented in front of Development Bank of the Philippines and Market Site. . Culminating activity was the grand night and coronation of Miss Masbate City 2007.Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla was the guest speaker. Along with him was Philip Salvador, a showbiz personality. |
